Why I Started Rumblist Moto Market
One night, like a lot of nights before it, I was sitting on the couch with my dog and my laptop.
All my dog wanted was my attention. All I wanted was a vintage Triumph brake lever.
OK that’s not all I wanted. In fact I was shopping for a variety of things — new, used and vintage: an OEM Triumph brake lever, a set of knobby tires, winter riding gloves, and a beater bike for those less-than-perfect riding conditions.
After what felt like an eternity searching Ebay, messaging unresponsive users on Craigslist and Facebook, and comparison shopping between the usual online retailers, I was annoyed and frustrated by the experience.
I was shopping for 4 things and visited about 10 different websites. I started to wonder — where's the website that has it all?
Where's the marketplace that's only for riders? Where can you find everything and sell anything without people ghosting you or sellers jacking up prices because their payments are gutted by high fees?
I want to love shopping for motorcycle parts as much as I love motorcycles. But if this is the typical experience of buying (and selling) motorcycle stuff online, then the experience is fundamentally broken.
So I decided to fix it.
I spent the next few months building a simple website that could solve this problem for the entire motorcycle community.
It had free listings, low fees, real user reviews, seller and buyer protections, great customer service and fast payouts.
In January 2023, just a few days after the New Year, rumblist.com went live.
The bigger Rumblist Moto Market grows, the faster it will put an end to the frustrations that most riders experience when buying and selling motorcycle parts online.
What does the name Rumblist mean?
The word Rumblist describes anyone who loves the rumble of motorcycles. If your ears perk up when you hear a bike go by, if you smile when your own bike roars to life before a long ride, or if you simply enjoy the feeling of community when you wave to other riders on the road, you are a Rumblist.
